Hearing Scheduled in Detroit Concerning Michigan Central Station

A court hearing in the matter of the Michigan Central Depot demolition has been scheduled for May 29th.

The petition we’ve made possible here will be presented at the hearing and to the Detroit media.

I want to personally thank all that signed.

Keep your fingers crossed. I will know the outcome of the hearing on the 29th and will post back as soon as I know something.

Thanks again, everyone!

You folks up there should look into forming a non-profit or not-for-profit organization like we did in Buffalo NY for the Central Terminal. A catchy name like ‘Michigan Central Station Preservation Society’ or something like that would enable your non-profit or not-for-profit group to apply for grants and funding from various sources for restoration projects at MCS. If your group can somehow also convince Mr. Moroun to either sell or donate the building to the group (so it will no longer be a burden to him), take a huge tax write-off while doing so, and enable the preservation community the opportunity to preserve a piece of your local history. Please visit http://buffalocentralterminal.org to learn more about the Central Terminal Restoration Corporatrion (CTRC) in Buffalo NY. Best of luck with your efforts to save MCS!
